My Story

Hi, I’m Jimmy, and I’m in recovery from addiction. Like many people in the rooms, I found myself attending multiple fellowships – AA for alcohol, NA for drugs, and sometimes CA or GA depending on what I needed that day.

I remember countless times when I desperately needed a meeting but couldn’t find one quickly. I’d spend precious time googling meeting times, calling phone numbers that weren’t updated, or going to meetings that had been cancelled or moved.

This tool was born from that frustration. I wanted to create something that would instantly connect people with the meetings they need, when they need them most.Β

Many of us struggle with multiple addictions or find different fellowships speak to us at different times. This tool recognises that reality and makes it easy to find any meeting you need.

Frequently Asked Questions

What is AA (Alcoholics Anonymous)?

AA is a fellowship of people who share their experience, strength, and hope with each other to solve their common problem with alcohol. The only requirement for membership is a desire to stop drinking. AA is free, non-denominational, and available in virtually every community. Meetings typically last 60-90 minutes and include sharing, reading from AA literature, and mutual support.

What is NA (Narcotics Anonymous)?

NA is a global fellowship of people for whom drugs had become a major problem. We meet regularly to help each other stay clean. The only requirement for membership is a desire to stop using drugs. NA is free and meetings are held in communities worldwide. The program is based on the 12 Steps adapted for drug addiction recovery.

What is CA (Cocaine Anonymous)?

CA is a fellowship of people who share their experience, strength, and hope with each other to solve their common problem with cocaine addiction. While CA focuses specifically on cocaine, many members have struggled with other substances as well. The program follows the 12 Steps and is free to attend. Meetings provide a safe space to share experiences and receive support.

What is GA (Gamblers Anonymous)?

GA is a fellowship of people who have joined together to do something about their gambling problem and to help other compulsive gamblers do the same. The only requirement for membership is a desire to stop gambling. GA follows a 12-Step program adapted for gambling addiction. Meetings are free and confidential.

Can anyone join these meetings?

Yes! All 12-step meetings are open to anyone who has a desire to stop their addictive behavior. There are two types of meetings: Open meetings (anyone can attend) and Closed meetings (only for those who identify with the addiction). As a newcomer, you're always welcome. You don't need to speak if you don't want to, and you don't need to commit to anything except showing up.

What should I expect at my first meeting?

Your first meeting might feel intimidating, but remember that everyone there was once in your position. Typically, meetings start with readings, followed by sharing time where members talk about their experiences. You'll hear phrases like "Keep coming back" and "It works if you work it." You're not required to share, but if you do, just say your first name and that you're new. People will likely give you their phone numbers - this is normal and encouraged for support.

Are meetings really free?

Yes, all 12-step meetings are free. There's usually a voluntary collection during meetings to cover basic expenses like rent and literature, but no one is required to contribute. The only requirement is a desire to stop your addictive behavior. Many people find that attending meetings is the most cost-effective thing they've ever done for their recovery.
